The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side behind the glove box. Tools: T20 Torx Wrench.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- With the glovebox closed, use the T20 Torx wrench to remove the 3 screws on the bottom of the glove box.
- Pull the plastic panel down from the glove box.
- Open the glove box and remove the end cover on the right side of the glove box.
- Use the T20 Torx wrench and remove the screw on the bottom right side of the glove box.
- Then, keep removing 3 screws at the top of the glove box.
- Now, you can remove the glove box from the vehicle, and carefully disconnect the light connector attached to the glove box.
- Lean the glove box against the center console so it does not stress the other cables that are still attached to the glove box.
- Locate the filter housing and remove the housing cover by sliding the lock to the left.
- Remove the old filters out from the filter housing.
- Insert your new cabin air filters into filter housing.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure and it’s done.
