The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side behind the glove box. Tools: Phillips head screwdriver.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the glove box.
- On the right-hand side of the glove box you will see a rod connected to the glove box. This is called the dampener rod. This rod may be secured in one of two ways. If the rod is secured by a screw, use the Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screw.
- Now remove the glove box by pushing in on both sides of the glove box while pulling it downward until you disengage the stops on each side. Once the stops are disengaged allow the glove box to swing downward and off its hinges. Set the glove box aside.
- Now, you should see the cabin filter door. Open the cabin filter door by unlatching the 2 latches at the top of the door and allow the door to swing downward.
- Remove the old filter by pulling it straight out.
- Install your new cabin filter.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure and it’s done.
