The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Under the hood, in the engine compartment under the plenum chamber cover. Tools: Phillips-head screwdriver (may be required).
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Unlatch and open hood.
- Standing on the passenger side of the vehicle, remove the plenum chamber cover.
- The cover is secured by either screws or clips. (The plenum chamber cover is located in front of the cowling grille and runs about half-way across the vehicle from the passenger side of the engine compartment.)
- The vehicle type will determine whether you fold back the plenum chamber cover or have access to remove it during the replacement of the cabin filter.
- Remove old cabin filter from housing.
- Install your new cabin filter.
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure. Close the hood and it’s done.
